As an incoming freshman, I am pretty sure I know what I want to major in, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I at least know what area I want to enter in. Should I apply for FYC, or the major I think I want to enter in??? What about housing??? What is the wisest decision for me??? Can you list the pros and cons for both?? Thanks!

Your question is a little confusing. If you have been admitted to NCSU, you’ve already chosen a major on your application. Are you saying you wish to change that now?

Yes, because I thought I wanted to do a certain major, now I dont know what I want to do.

If you are completely undecided then you should call the admissions office and find out if there is a possibility of switching to FYC.

If you have a broad interest in an area such a business, natural resources, forestry, education, liberal arts, etc. but don’t know which exact major you want, see if you could transfer to that college and just take gen. ed. courses that every freshman has to take while you narrow down the choices for your specific major.

Just so that another housing question thread doesn’t need to be made, I’ll post here.

Anyone know if the housing villages (i.e. Engineering Village or the IMPACT Leadership Village) take up the entire building?
