*****housing questions here*****

When you complete the Housing contract and are selecting your rooms, do you get to pick the room numbers? If my friend were to get a double and I were to get a double separately, would we be able to get them next to each other?

No. Schools do not assign by room number, they assign by room type. You can each request a double room, but where those rooms are in the building is up to the housing staff.

@cak212 At UIUC, you get to enter the housing system at a designated time, like a lottery, as long as you complete a contract by the deadline. You can essentially select any bed that is still available using the online tool. So, yes, if you wanted to be in separate rooms next door, you could do that, provided that two beds were still available in rooms next door or across the hall at the dorms you want. Better chance of this at FAR, smaller chance at Wassaja, Townsend (if open) or Nugent depending when you pick. Unless you happen to get the same time slot, one of you will pick first and hope a bed next door is still available when the next person picks. Otherwise, I believe the first person can change to any open room when the second person picks.

I’m not sure exactly how it works if you are both accepted into the same LLC, but I believe you would both get an earlier time slot. Of course you would be tied to the dorm/floor where the LLC is located.
