Daughter is a rising sophomore at UGA, and we are looking into Fall housing options. Any suggestions? She's leaning towards off campus. She has two friends looking to live with her too, so housing would need to accomodate three residents.

my son did the Reserve as a sophomore and they renewed for junior year. Safe place with gate. 24 hour maintenance. came furnished if you want it which worked great for us. each had their own bedroom and own bathroom which was a big plus for the boys. they liked not sharing a bath. price includes water and cable so only pay electric plus rent. electric for a four bedroom runs about 125 average per month- that is after they got month 1 whopper of a bill and learned to turn off lights/ac when they were gone for the day!you can look it up online.

Upperclassman generally live off campus, but you can definitely live on campus if you want to. A lot of students actually get the meal plan even if you like off campus. That’s always a good option

East Campus Village is great for upper classroom housing, but I’d recommend getting an apartment. Athens rent is pretty affordable.

Apartment complexes close to Riverbend Rd. and International Dr. are popular choices and are on the Athens bus system. You can also use craiglist to find places. The townhouse I lived in for a year came up from a craiglist search, and we got a great deal on it. Riverwalk, Riverclub, and the Exchange are also popular places, but those are a little farther away from campus.

With two other roommates, you shouldn’t have to pay more than $450 for everything, and even then, that’s expensive. Some of the upper end apartments (The townhouses that go for 1200) are popular too if they’re in your price range.

Thanks for the suggestions!!!
