Hello. I am filling out the housing application and I can’t find the difference between standard and enhanced. I know they are different in price, but what is the difference between them? If you have any information between the two, please let me know. Thanks!
The difference is really in how new and/or fancy the dorm is compared to others. The best way to compare without visiting is to search online for videos and pictures of the dorms.
Are students guaranteed dorms (freshmen specifically ?) I’m not 100% sure I will attend here so I can’t leave a deposit yet.
Also is there a map of the housing ? Is it walkable from the housing to your classes or not. This is for Kelley direct admit.
Go to weareiu.com …this was a good resource when we were looking. There are several articles/reviews about the different dorms written by students. Everything is walkable - but some walks are longer than others and there are busses available. Central is a good neighborhood is you want everything to be walkable. Northwest is good for Kelley, Southwest for Jacobs. Usually the difference between standard and enhanced housing is how updated the dorm is. You cannot request a specific dorm in a neighborhood, but you can request a neighborhood and the type of housing you want…e.g. so if you know you want Briscoe you can request Northwest, Enhanced…and the only dorm that falls into that category is Briscoe…so if you are set on a certain dorm find out the level and neighborhood and request that. Nothing is guaranteed, but it helps.
