My son is entering the Univ of Pittsburgh School of Engineering in the fall as a freshman (class of 2024). He is considering living in the engineering living learning community in Forbes vs requesting one of the Towers on a freshman floor. Do you any seasoned Pittsburgh parents have an opinion?
I’m an incoming freshman, but I’m a Pittsburgh native and know a little about housing. He can apply to the engineering LLC and still put one of the towers as his first choice. If he gets into the engineering LLC, he will be put into Forbes. If not, he will be probably be put into towers or one of his other choices. If he’s still deciding between the two, I’d say it depends on what he wants more. The engineering LLC is probably a good way to study, especially considering the average engineering student’s GPA after freshman year is something like 2.7. It’s also a nice dorm but a little farther away from central Oakland. Towers is more of the typical freshman experience and is closer to everything else, and it is where the majority of freshmen live.
Thank you!! This is so helpful.
