housing?

anyone got their housing apps that were supposed to come "early May?" It's almost middle of May...

If you did get it, post what state you are from- maybe it's because I live far down in Texas.

Did not get it in CA either.

its online and has nothing to do with where you are from, don't worry about it yet

Have you guys been talking to other incoming frosh about roommate situations? (i.e. on facebook)

Haven't gotten anything yet, I'd stay away from fb for roommates.

I'd been trying to, though it seems that's the way to pre-meet people these days.

I'd highly highly recommend NOT using any kind of pre-meet strategy like facebook. If you don't legitimately know someone that you WANT to room with, you are better off leaving it up to chance than trying to find a match over facebook. From what I have seen happen, you cannot tell how a person will act in real life based on a few IMs or a facebook profile, and it ends up leading to a crappy match that you feel even worse about since you personally caused it to happen. Plus, there's something charming about the fact that you might meet your new best friend just due to some random housing arrangement. Be brave, try it.

^^agreed. and no, I have not gotten anything.

@dfleish- well said. I'm convinced. ;)

havent gotten housing in NJ yet

yet trying to find a roommate through facebook does give u higher chances of finding someone you like.
better than leaving it completely up to chance
however, it's true you rly know little about that person and you might be easily disappointed

I got a housing deposit letter today in the mail with something I am supposed to send in with the money. It says "Students who submit their completed room reservation form and deposit by the deadline will be able to complete their online housing application." So I guess we send in the money and then fill out the app later? Oh yea, I'm im Chicago.
