Housing

Anyone still waiting on their dorm assignment? D's been waiting 10 weeks and no contract.

Yea, a few of my friends still haven't gotten their contracts yet; they sent out the app around mid-May. You should get it soon, we're supposed to get our roommate info by early August...

i'm in the same boat here. Sent my app May 10, so i'm hoping it's coming soon.

Anyone know anything about Oxford housing? (We know it's out-of-the-way!) D got contract for "3-person apartment" today. Any info is helpful!

Oxford used to be where they housed sophomore transfers, and it also had a hotel conference center. They have used it in the past when the freshman class is big, and they may have converted the conference center as well for last year's class.

As I understand it, they have traditionally preferred NOT to use it for freshman because it is a little out-of-the-way, but freshmen who end up there are generally really happy with it. I believe they added a bus stop last year.

is it more out-of-the-way than north campus housing though?

More news on Oxford--The AA Transportation Authority is restoring "The Link" which was a bus route that ran in a big circle from campus to downtown. They're going to add Oxford House to the route.

So Oxford students will not only have a bus link to campus, they can readily get to the Main Street & Kerrytown area. Without changing buses.
