How about dreaming together about Dartmouth?

What is the first thing you will do if you find out that you've been admitted to Dartmouth?

I already know what I will do. I will throw away all my application files from the other univeristies I am applying, then I will call everybody I know, all my friends, all my teachers, all my relatives, and I will send a really nasty, self-centered mass message to all the people in my messenger list just in case I skipped telephoning someone. Ah! :D

Call up my Model UN adviser/Humanities teacher/the lady without whom I never could have gotten into Dartmouth in the first place and tell her the news. Then maybe I'll tell my parents. But I'll be at a MUN conference, so I might just try to solicit a hug from the secretary general. (Did I say that out loud?)

Then, of course, I'll proceed to destroy the "Dartmouth deferral mix tape" I made last night consisting solely of the most disheartening, sad songs that Morrissey has ever written.

That said, if I don't get in, I might spend a few days/weeks/months doing nothing but listening to the Smiths. Not that I currently do anything other than listen to the Smiths, but... you get the general idea. (My username, by the way, is a Morrissey song, if anyone was wondering. I'm not actually a hairdresser, nor am I on fire!)

oh, the mystery of your name is finally solved hairdress. lol.

if i get in (knock on wood), then i'll probably go insane, run around my house like a lunatic, and then text message everyone! and i have a pact w/ all my friends that we do something crazy if we all get in or dont get in to our ed school.

I will scream...... Scream my lungs out .... and pick up anything that i can get my hands on and throw it on the wall/floor and then scream again.... and then jump a couple of times ..... and then do it all over again ....
But I dont get in ..... I would just go and have a walk or watch TV or shower and try to get myself over it .......

supergaut24: I see myself doing the exact same thing. plus, I'd put on my Dartmouth sweather (which I'm wearing right now), and tell every possible person I met.

Talking about dreams..what do you want to major in while at Dartmouth?

Double in Russian and Biology, with a concentration in Human Biology. (They totally re-did the Bio department recently. When I visited campus I had an opportunity to talk with a professor there, and all the concentrations within the major, well... it's pretty dandy.)

I'm going to be pre-med, but my love of Eastern Europe combined with Dartmouth's awesome language program and the flexibility of the D-plan just beckons me to double major.

double major in english and biology

Neuroscience? Econ? I don't know yet.

Why do so many of you want to be pre-med? Seriously..That's a big question mark for me (In high school I haven't been particularly thrilled with either biology or chemistry. My bad, I know). Doesn't it take forever to become a doctor?

Anyway, interesting choices. I was thinking about engineering sciences/economics/studio art. I don't know yet which one of them or which two of them. And I want a minor in German!

Good luck in December while we are waiting for the decision! :-S

Premed and maybe minor in Arabic

i dont want to do premed. i actually want to become a publisher/editor, but my parents are encouraging me to look into bio research, so i have something extra to fall back on.

i want to major in psychology and maybe(but more likely not) minor in economics..

When will the admission office start e-mailing the decisions? Have you found out anything? There is nothing on the Dartmouth web page.

i know. its really annoying, and all of us are so anxious to find out!

i'm guessing that we'll find out in about 5-6 days

I wish they'd at least tell us when they'll post decisions, though. Hopefully they do so tomorrow! I'm tired of now knowing for sure.

yeah the uncertainty is driving me crazy, esp w/ all my other friends knowing for sure when they are finding out (aka harvard, princeton, columbia, u chicago ect)

I know my interview said he had to get his stuff in by Nov. 30. I was kind of excited because that meant they would still be looking at Nov. SAT scores.

If people said they found out by the 8th last year, we should find out sometime this week... Maybe thursday!=-0

I'm going crazy without knowing. I just want to know!
