My hours for work vary week to week, and I was wondering if it’s okay to put the higher end of the number when the application (Common App, ApplyTexas) asks for it. I’ve just heard so many stories of people getting acceptances rescinded because they didn’t give accurate information…do the colleges check some financial form that lists how often I work?
Accurate enough to pass the red face test . . .
This was asked at Cal Poly admin session- they said take total hours for last year, divide by 52.
@my2caligirls wait sorry what’s the red face test?
@vickisocal ohh ok so the average, I see thank you
Put an average, not the highest. If there is a sentence to describe the activity you could add it there that there is a variation in the hours.
red face test - something you can defend
So what if, for example, I started working only three days a week for the first two week, but for the subsequent 8 weeks I worked four days a week. Why not just put the second one for hours per week since that was what I did for the majority of the time?
My D calculated an average and used that.
