Just recently got my PLAN scores and i got a 23 composite. We won’t get the full report with the projected ACT score until March but I was anxious and did some research. I was projected to get 24-28. I did not study and I ran out of time for some questions. Is this projection accurate b/c I am hoping to go to a top tier school. If I study and take the actual test can i get a 32+? Was the projection accurate in your case?
When I did PLAN (which is out of 32 for those who don’t know), I got the following:
27 C (Predicted to get 28-32 ACT)
28 E (-2)
32 M (-0)
25 R (-4)
23 S (-6)
Without studying, my first and second ACTs were the following:
31 C
31 E
32 M
28 R
31 S
8 W (22-24 New Scale)
34 C
35 E
35 M
34 R
32 S
36 W
PLAN English is slightly easier than ACT, Math is much easier, Reading is a bit easier, and Science is pretty similar.
32 is probably your upper limit without study, but you could easily get 34+ with good studying. When I took PLAN, I ran out of time on R and S. Just make sure you finish now that you know what to expect.
If you have any more questions, let me know. I hope this helps.
@Hermit9 thanks for sharing! This really makes me hopeful.
The projected score is just a statistic analysis from previous students that most students would end up in that range. If one really put effort into it, one would be able to exceed that range. My D always get 1 points higher than the projected range in ACT EXPLORER and PLAN that she got 35 in the single sit real test at the end. To get a score 4 points higher than the projected range would need a lot of effort.
