How accurate is My Chances?

I stumbled upon a website called Parchment | Parchment Inc.. (recently changed site name, used to be called MyChances)
Basically, you enter in your academic information, colleges you want to apply go, etc and the site generates your chances of getting in based on previous applications and students.
How accurate do you think this website is for finding reaches and match schools?

From what I can tell it’s pretty accurate! It’s more calculated then most things of course you can also try Cappex which is pretty good with it too!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1196782-chances-brown-will-chance-back.html

Website not on Wikipedia. But even without that fact, it seems extremely sketchy to me. Hell, even CC chancing seems sketchy to me. I wonder how Parchment, Inc. got their hands on 478,596 college applications (so they claim).

And, on a more philosophical note (well, not really :P), why do people make so many chance threads anyways? Couldn’t one just look at existing chance threads, and compare themselves to the OPs of those threads? For example, “Hey, I have worse credentials than this dude, and the chancers say he has no chance of getting into XX University” or “Hey, I’m more qualified than this dude [wow, that sounds so rude lol] and people say he’s almost guaranteed into XX University,” etc.
