Hi, I just want others opinions of how I’m doing so far in high school and, I know this isn’t the “Chance Me” forum, but maybe give me an idea of what possible colleges I fall into academically?
I’m a rising junior at a school that is considered to be in the top 12% of most challenging high schools, but if you ask me, it’s not competitive or “challenging” at all.
Freshman Year:
Regular English
French 2
Accelerated Geometry/Algebra 1
Gifted Bio
Marketing Principles
Health/PE
Intro to Culinary
4.0 GPA weighted/unweighted
Sophomore Year:
AP Human Geo
AP World History
French 3
Regular English
Regular Chem
Marketing & Entrepreneurship
Accelerated Geometry/Algebra 2
4.08 weighted/4.0 unweighted GPA
Anticipated Junior Year:
AP English Lang
AP US History
French 4
Regular Physics
Sports/Entertainment Marketing
Accelerated Pre-Calc
Random elective spot - probably will be just a “filler class” like ceramics there’s nothing worth taking
~Literally only 2 extracurriculars that I’m not 100% involved in so I won’t even list them~
~A measly 10 hours of community service. Yes, for both years of high school combined~
Summer Activities:
None. I spoke to my counselor about doing some online classes to get some credits out of the way, but I was told no. I had plans to work hard this summer, believe me!
PSAT:
1200. I expect by actual SAT score to be much higher when I actually study for it.
Extra Info to judge me by??:
I don’t know how weighted GPA is calculated at my school, but to get an idea, the last 2 valedictorians had 4.1~ GPAs…none of that 4.6 stuff.
No honors classes at my school. “Gifted” classes stop in 10th grade and have no effect on GPA.
I was fully capable of taking the regular classes at a gifted level, but schedule conflicts prevented me from doing so. Not that it matters anymore, but I wasn’t trying to take super easy classes on purpose.
