So up until recently, I was unable to get aid to my immigration status, however I can get aid now!! and I corrected the FASFA already.

My EFC Index: 1907

The school I am looking at are

NYU
Michigan Ann Arbor
Illinois Urbana
Indiana Bloomington
FSU
UF
and if all goes well the ivy that starts with a P (Its bad karma to even think im getting in, but IF I am given the opportunity to attend)

My question is, how is my fin aid looking at for these schools, btw they are in order of preference.

Thank You

The public schools will not meet need if you are OOS. If you are in state, you may get some grants to help. Remember that state schools must first help their own students.

It is impossible to say. If your PROFILE need figure is similar, then the full need met schools are very likely to give you a generous package. None of the schools you listed fall in that category. I have seen a few NYU kids get very good packages, but that is rare. NYU does not guarantee to meet need, and more often than not, they do not. The only thing your FAFSA guarantees you is PELL money and $5500 in Stafford loans in your name with some of it subsidized. That’s less than $10K towards your college costs. The rest is entirely up to each college as to what they want to give you out of their resources.

If you are high stat, and a student on their wish list, it is possible you get a nice merit withiin need packge that can be generous. It is also possible you just get the minimum that the government guarantees. That is the range of possibilities and until you get your offers, it’s impossible to say. We’d just be guessing. I wish you luck and hope at least one of the schools come up with a nice package that makes it possible for you to attend.
