Is it because you enjoy it? Because it is in high demand for the job market? Both? :O

I’m not sure what I want to major in, and I have exactly a little over a year to figure that out :/

I’m leaning heavily towards linguistics right now, though I’m also interested in art stuff like music, design and photography, plus a lot of other things that I haven’t really had the chance to explore yet (astronomy -gasp-). I’m just saying linguistics because it seems amazing to me and I haven’t become bored with it in the last year like I have most of my other passing interests.

I chose it because I love it and I’m sticking with it because of its opportunities, both intellectual and financial.

I think I’m gonna pick it due to it’s demand in the future and the salary. I guess you will always have to work no matter what even when you are old. So mind as well do something that will pay a lot. You may not like the job but who wouldn’t be happy making 6 figures a year. I would want to major in what I love but there are so many useless degrees. At the same time a major doesn’t decide the career. Who knows maybe I’ll change my mind and take on a whole new path.

I picked both of my majors and both of my minors because they’re what I’m passionate about.

I’d rather follow my heart than a dollar sign.

I love astronomy (main EC) but I’m leaning towards PoliSci and humanities majors or maybe physics if I become better at it.

I’m just going to roll a dice that has different majors on each side. I hope I don’t get fashion designing!

Because it’s what I’ve wanted to do since I was seven years old.

I haven’t chosen a specific major.
I know whatever it is, it will be something I truly love to do! :)

Still trying to decide, but I’m choosing purely on interest because I have plans to go to med school. I’m between physics, neuroscience, physiology, microbiology & immunology, and anatomy & cell biology.

I fell in love with French February vacation in 8th grade. I’ve known I want to major in it since college first entered my mind (freshman year, even if I didn’t do any research then). So, I guess the first one…

EDIT: Linguistics for the same reason, but much more recently

because I’m good at math and physics and generally suck at anything else to make a career out of it (can I make a career out of reading and doodling? no? not really? damn)

also to make explosives and robots and exploding robots that break dance

xkcd. nuff said.

that’s a career out of reading, doodling, and being awesome

I don’t think I have the awesomeness level.

I’m going to do what my parents didn’t do first and foremost, and I’m going to do what interests me, though I’m not quite sure yet.

International studies because I love it! & I want to work in Washington DC… or somewhere in the US.

I’ve loved computer science since I first messed with a computer at age 3.
