I need to pay a lot for it, and my family isn't too rich. We took 2 loans. And I'm reading that it's a bad idea. I'm kinda worries right now. How else can I pay for school? I plan on soing scholarships, and overall, are getting loans and getting into debt during undergrade a super bad idea?

Yeah I'm having similar issues too, but I think racking up a debt is sort of inevitable. I'm hoping to get a few scholarships and maybe landing a work-study program or something. If anyone else has suggestions, that would be AWESOME!

there's nothing you can do except take out loans. try the job fair and do the federal work-study thing

scholarships are nice but unless they're the ones for having high rank/grades, they won't be much (probably $1000 at most) and you probably won't even win them

i can't relate too much since my parents pay for tuition and housing (therefore, i'm left with the 'extra' expenses like train/plane tickets, books, etc.)

i work 3 jobs. before you go, ***...allow me to explain. i save most of it, i love my jobs, and i don't work a lot at any of the jobs, but i get paid enormous amounts of money for what my work is worth. once you're junior status, apply to be a TA...the second quarter, you get paid up to ~$140 a week for a couple of hours of work. i also handle another teaching job on the side for fun and i've carried on a similar job from one i had in hs.

point is, if you're diligent and apply your talents and knowledge, you can easily get nice jobs without having to work in the cafeteria taking out the trash.

other than that, try summer programs; they pay a lot and pay for your housing and food too.

well, if you guys don't mind serving the military for 4 years then I would suggest an ROTC in-college scholarship. I think they have one for every branch.

I got one from the Air Force and they'll be paying for everything except room and board. They also give you monthly allowances, so that was pretty neat.

You'll be taking a class and leadership lab each year, but when your done you'll have a job related to your major and you will be an officer with all the benefits. ;)

sorry if this doesn't really have anything to do with this thread, but when is our first billing? my dad has been asking me, but i have no idea.

August 26
