How are you notified

My daughter applied to NCSU, and Yale early decision. They are supposed to notify December 15. Is that an email notification or snail mail?

Students log on to the school’s portal to find out the decision. Prior to the decision date, students will be given instructions on how to log on.

It’s great when they have a website to check. Several of my Ds colleges were still snail mail only in 2013.

For NCSU specifically, it’s all online. A couple years ago S actually got a phone call from an NCSU upperclassman telling him he was accepted as part of ED.

Is this for Yale or NCSU ?

Yale will notify through the students Eli account

All SCEA applicants will be informed to check their Eli account on the appropriate date at the appropriate time - before that magic time, there will be nothing there. Last year it was December 16 at 5:00 for Yale. If you were admitted, a Bulldog appeared and the Yale song started - “bulldog, bulldog, bow wow wow, Eli Yale…” If you were not admitted, you got a message to that affect.

For Harvard, it was an e-mail that the applicant had to open. For UPenn, it was also a link that they had to open and had confetti and Welcome to Penn with applause in the background!!! Trust me, for those that were admitted, those links were opened many times that night and over the next few days once the kids realized that it would play over and over. Unfortunately, I am sure the kids that got bad news did not open the link, or access the account, or open the e-mail over and over.

Thanks so much. Boy I hope we get that fight song!
