Im just wondering how are you guys preparing for sports this up comming fall and what are you planning on playing? field hockey? soccer? cross country? soccer? pre season hockey?
are you going to a fitness center? working out? running? maybe swimming? how are you getting in shape?

I’m not going to BS, but I’ll answer your question anyway:)
I’m doing cross country and dance. To prepare, I’m running everyday- I alternate long runs and track workouts. I go to the gym to lift weights and use the elliptical nearly everyday, and I sometimes swim laps. I also go to a ballet class three times a week.

soccer, not that much, I’m just trying to relax this summer. Mostly running, working out, treadmill/eliptical and not that often.

Cross Country
I’ve just been running every morning and then in the evenings I do 5 sets of 25 push ups and 5 sets of 10 pull ups and around 150 crunches. I’ve also been dieting - drinking a lot of water and eating loads of vegetables and fruits, while cutting back on carbs. :D

I actually have to gain weight for cross country! Haha… Yeah I have been taking beach walks with my dog every morning, running 5K every other day for cross country, and swimming 10 laps in our pool every day.

i’m taking volleyball in the fall, advanced dance in the winter, and frisbee in the spring. i’m just working on trying to get my endurance up and making my legs and core stronger. i do pilates sessions, as well as nine hours of dance classes a week. and of course, i do other core workouts in my room like crunches, pushups, plank, etc.

oh jeez, haa, ummmmmmmmm I’ve been trying to follow the field hockey packet i received which mainly includes running, sprinting, weight training, agility, stick work blah blah blah almost every day. why can’t i just relax ?!?! :/

Relaxation = fun; BS has no relaxation; Therefore BS = No fun. :D

^^^ makes sense pulsar! :)

i know this sounds ridiculous but i have a trainer. also i have a volleyball and rowing camp coming up and using the treadmill.

I have a nutritionist who gives me training techniques and like a month of exercise ideas. This comes from the fact that I horseback rode so intensely that I was away from home a lot since I was 12 or so, and sometimes my parents didn’t come. They wanted me to know how to eat healthy on my own or something weird like that.

Don’t worry, it doesn’t sound ridiculous.

I totally need to exercise more… I’ve been running on the treadmill, and doing pushups, crunches, sit-ups, squats, etc. But not often enough, I think… blahhh

im wish joshbyron on this one im doing a bit of dieting myself and im going in a summer hockey camp next month to prepare for pre season hockey in the fall.

most of the kids who attend UK boarding schools have attends UK prep elementary schools and there isnt alot of student comming into Uk boarding schools who have attened a UK public school. i think it says on the harrow website that like 95 percent of the boys comming into harrow attened a Uk private school before comming in.

sorry that was ment for the Uk comparrison thread sorry about that i cant delete it though

I’m switching from XC (
) to soccer. (I’ve been playing, just not for school) I’ve been playing on my schools summer soccer team. I’ve improved so much lol

(not going, but i thought i’d post anyway)

Well since I don’t do a fall sport, I’ve been preparing for basketball season by playing every day and by increasing my stamina with track workouts (i also run track), long runs, crunches, planks, push ups, and some dieting (more vegetables less soda :D). I also have been trying to build a bit of leg extensions and hamstring workouts on the machine in the gym.

How do you guys get to the gym? The closest professional gym to me is several miles away :P
