I just finished running 4 miles as part of my workout plan for cross country. Anyone else pumped up for high school sports? If so, share your workout and nutrition tips!

I roller-skied 7.1 miles yesterday. Happily, I'm not sore at all. I am amazingly out of shape.

I'm excited for track next year...but I'm mainly pumped because I'm still running off of the excitement of my last season, which just ended like 2 weeks ago.

I'm running 3 miles. I'm a sprinter, lol. I'm doing this because I'm already not at 100% by the end of the 100m.

And as for my jumping events, I jump around every chance I can get. I'm also constantly thinking of steps while doing everyday tasks...lol.

Woohoo...workouts and nutrition..i love it:
5 day split on the weights
one body part each day...usually 3-4 sets of 4-6 high intensity reps
30 mins jogging at about 60-75%
Then some plyometrics for good measure...not alot though, dont want to overtrain

Eight small meals a day
250 grams of protein
300 grams of carbs
120 grams of fat

Sport specific:
Stick work...usually shoot both left and right hand, then play wall ball both left and right, then some quick stick left and right

meh... i don't do high school sports...but i do fence nationally

come to think of it...i'm not really involved in my school lol

most of my ec's are out of school

I think fencing'd be sweet, even though I don't really know much about it.

Yeah, I'd like to be able to fence. Never tried, though.

Well, during my trip to Houston I got to ride a horse for the first time. And I did pretty well. Consequently, I now want to pursue with horse riding. Unfortunately, I'm half an inch taller than the maximum jockey height, so screw pursuing that fantasy...

Anyway, is anyone else in Cross Country? Can you give me some of your tips when preparing over the summer?

pprn00dle, what sport do you play?

I ride my bike for an hour or so per day. I also swim like.. a lot.

I'm doing country in the fall as well. :) On top of swimming, tennis, and soccer.

I'm in cross-country. I suck. I do it to get in shape for skiing.

I roller-skied 17 miles yesterday. I am sore today. Maybe I'm sore because everyone I rollerskied with has done college skiing...

LABLONDIE!

YOU LIVE IN BEMIDJI!

My friend just moved up there today from Rogers, MN. He used to live by me in Michigan.

Who's your friend and what grade is he in (next year)?

He's going into eighth grade. His name is Sam. His last name starts with an R.

So, I probably won't meet him...

Unless he's in either CC, XC, or Speech.

The 4 Mile race in our town was today, but I didn't go cuz the humidity was like 1 million percent...

I lifted some weights today. I'm trying to get in better shape for dodgeball next fall. I'm hoping to get recruited
