Culture and Crisis in the Golden Age of Athens - a fantastic introductory classics course that is team-taught. I absolutely love the readings and it’s not too writing intensive.

**Calculus I **- much more challenging than my AP Calculus course in high school; I’m a bit surprised at the switch between college-level math and high school math.

Introduction to Economics - a review of micro and macro to me, but it’s mandatory to major in economics, so I’m taking it.

**Modern Standard Arabic I **- very challenging and intense, but I enjoy it a great deal. it’s taught by two professors and a great way to take care of my language requirement. it’s a very different way of thinking about language.

Politics of Civil Rights and Liberties – super fun, though the lectures can be hard to keep up with. She likes to make her points by asking leading questions until we get it, and then as soon as we do quickly moves onto the next topic. Really engaging way to learn, but difficult to take notes on.

The Evolution of China Under Communism – I am deeply interested in the subject matter of this course but so far am disappointed with it anyway. I had originally signed up to take it under Kenneth Lieberthal, but apparently he retired over the summer. The professor that took it up is known to be a really excellent professor here but her lectures are boring me, she seems to just read from a paper-- and doesn’t even read from the paper very well, I have to sift through a sea of “um” and “uh” and trailing off at the end of sentences to find what she is talking about. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt though because she is supposed to be really great.

Contemporary Topics in Political Science – I thought I’d hate this class because there is a TON of reading even by poli sci standards and the first unit is on the financial crisis, and I suck at economics. But I am actually REALLY enjoying it and learning a lot.

Intro to Geography --This class is okay, I am disappointed the lectures are completely pointless if you’ve done the reading, but you have to sit through them anyway because the lecture is small enough for attendance to be graded. The professor is really fun though and its my last gen ed requirement so I don’t think I can complain.

My only complaint in general is that I have anywhere from 200-500 pages to read per day. It’s getting really hard to keep up and still retain anything I am reading with how much I have to do at once to get it done.

Evolution of Humans, Technology and Society

1st Year Spanish

Interpersonal Communications

Federal Indian Relations of the 19th Century

My classes don’t start till next monday, so I don’t know how they are yet. But I am pretty excited about them. I think they are going to be awesome.

Critical Writing: My professor is really laid back and chill, a harsh grader, but I’m doing well thus far (I got a B+ on the first paper). He tells us stories, likes us to think on our own, and lets us out of class about 20 minutes early everyday.

Anatomy&Physiology: Awful. My professor doesn’t teach. She told us on the first day that she wasn’t going to. We’re expected to memorize the notes she posts on Blackboard and be prepared for tests by that. It sucks even more because I’m a nursing major and I need at least a C in this class to move on.

World civ: It’s alright. It’s not really anything too new. My professor is pretty chill which helps, and we don’t really do anything. We’ve had 3 weeks of class and the only assignment other than reading we had was a 2-3 page paper.

Sociology: This is my favorite class. My professor is really nice, and she lectures, but also engages the class so that it doesn’t get boring.

Psychology: Okay. We haven’t done a whole lot yet, but my professor is really nice, and she has good lectures, plus, she posts the PowerPoints up on Blackboard so that we can look at them outside of class.

Elementary Spanish 1- Great class. My instructor is wonderful, and funny. The first chapter was the very basics, so we are just now getting into things I don’t know, but still it is my second easiest class.

College Algebra- My instructor is alright, class is alright but feels sort of rushed. The class is 5 days a week (all the math classes are here), which is annoying, but helps.

Microecon- My instructor has a really thick accent, but you can tell he cares about his students. As long as you read the text and review the notes, everything is great.

Critical thinking- I want to like this class because my instuctor is a goof, but it is hard to when in 5 weeks we might have had only 2 lectures, the rest was goofing off. It showed when we got our exams back.

Drama Literature- This is online and by far my easiest class. We basically read plays and talk about them on blackboard. Each week we have a short discussion board, a short (couple paragraphs), and a short exam. We also have to view a local play and write a short 2-3 page paper on it.

Social Psych - Good teacher, material is boring and already familiar to me
Social Modern Problems - Online, overall an easy 3 credits
Global Health - Huge class, homework is easy but the class is pointless
Computer Apps - Hilarious teacher but incredibly boring material and I almost fall asleep each time in class
Eng 301 - Online, very tedious papers but it’s also easy credits
Math 119 - Online, done all the homework so far without reading but the first test might be difficult

English 102 - class is boring, hasn’t been much work so far
American National Government - big lecture class, interesting subject material, I like it so far
Intro to Sport and Entertainment Management - good teacher, good material
Calculus for Business Administration and Social Science - really good class, like my teacher, lots of good examples
University 101 - Easy A.

Nursing skills lab: Not bad, only had one class so far. Both teachers seem nice.

Communication: Teacher is a nutjob. Constantly talks about how to take advantage of college yada yada yada. We do nothing.

Microbiology: Teacher drones on … voice puts me to sleep. Reading isn’t hard, but her PowerPoints are confusing the way she sets them up. Kind of nervous for the first exam.

Fund. of Nursing: Teacher is awesome, lots of reading to keep up with. Did well on my first quiz, but terrified of the exam.

Human Development: My ABSOLUTE worst/most hated class this semester. Teacher rambles, discusses nothing from the book/readings. Picks on 99% of the class regularly. Is not clear about anything. I absolutely despise this class and I wish it wasn’t a requirement.

Health Assessment: Pretty chill, same teacher from my other nursing class.

Clinical: Instructor is kind of flaky, but seems nice. very nervous about patient assignments and things at the hospital, but hoping it goes well.

Micro Lab: Teacher is nice, but not exactly helpful? … Expects us to pretty much know how to do everything already which sucks. The labs themselves suck. Not enough microscopes… kind of sucks for a class based entirely on things that rely on 'scopes to be seen.

i like all my classes! :DDDDD surpringly =D
all my teachers are so nice and cool
math120: greatest teacher everrrrrrr! haha so funny and an excellent teacher
rws100: such an interesting guy, really cares about students
music101: such a hippie! i love it! XD such a chill class
econ101: even tho hes a nice teacher…hes realllly boring and hard to understand =/ but its all good.
