I have 5s in all my other APs, but I got a 3 on my English Comp exam, how would that affect a colleges opinion about me?

don't report it
you don't need to
APs are not sent until you are accepted in the spring.

I think you should report it.
As a passing grade, it won't hurt you. It's not like a 3 will kill your chances. The fact that you took the class and the test itself helps, and a 3 won't change that fact. (As long as it's not a 2 or a 1)

It looks bad if you don't take an AP exam, same as if you don't report. I think if you have some 5s, the 3 does not look bad.

report it.. if you have other 5s then its not much to worry about

Well, when you're required to send in your scores, don't you have to report it?

In any case, it doesn't matter. College won't care. They barely care if you get a 1. AP exams mostly give you a little boost if you get a lot of 5's, but they don't really hurt you if you get a bunch of 1's. They don't factor in the college admissions process as much and I think it's a shame because they are often a better predictor of college GPA than your high school GPA or SAT scores.

Plus, AP English comp is one of the hardest AP exams; only about 5% of those who took it in 2006 got a 5.

It's fine. I agree that reporting it is probably a good call, because if you don't, they'll assume either you failed, or didn't take the exam, both of which are worse. If you have several 5s, no one will care about one 3.

it'll probably just look like you're not as good in english comp as you are in whatever other APs you got 5's on. just report it. it's not liek u got a 2..

"Plus, AP English comp is one of the hardest AP exams; only about 5% of those who took it in 2006 got a 5."

That's mainly because the AP English Comp exam is taken by a larger percentage of students. For Calc BC, a large percentage get 5s not because the test is easy but because the students who take the exam are more self-selective and have stronger mathematical backgrounds.

And to give my opinion to the OP, yes report the 3.

What if you only took that one test - should you still report the 3 if that's the only AP score you received?

I wouldn't, it's a waste of time and space, and you don't know how they will react.

Just report it, particularly if you have many other scores of 5. It won't matter since you already have other good scores.
If it is the only score you have, then maybe not.
