How bad does a W look on a transcript?

I’m currently a HS senior thinking of dropping a dual credit English class. It’s a subject I’m great at (I’ve done well in other Eng duals and it’s just something I naturally excell at), but my teacher is really unreasonable and never makes her expectations clear for assignments. The grade I’d end up with would most likely be a B or C.
Just to give a bit of background, I want to major in English/ Finance and then apply to law school afterwards.
Is it worth it to take a W?

How are you doing in your other classes right now? How busy are you with everything else in your life? If you drop this class, will it leave a hole in your schedule?

Being afraid of a B is not a reason to drop a class - real college classes (and dual enrollment classes are real college classes) are not meant to be easy. Figuring out how to read the instructor’s mind is just part of the deal. Being afraid of a C might or might not be a reason to drop a class for those very same reasons. On the other hand, “The class was not what I had expected, and I decided to pursue my interest in 19th century mystery novels independently.” or “I had other demands in my schedule and felt it necessary to drop the dual credit class this term.” are perfectly reasonable reasons to drop the class.

I am pretty busy with other things: classes, job, clubs… I have tried to talk with her to better understand her expectations, but that didn’t really help. When I implemented her critiques in my other writing assignments, I received the same grade as I had on my previous assignments. She doesn’t always read the essays, only skimming through certain sentences, and also seems to favor certain students. Still, I will rethink this and consider not dropping. A B/ C isn’t really a valid reason for dropping the class; I understand that now.
Thank you for your reply! It was really helpful
