As it turns out, I am a few classes to graduate [Health, Computer Class], and i only have 1 semester to take those classes since it's my senior year this year.
As a result, I may have to drop a AP Class in order to take a Health/Computer class.
But I'm wondering how bad its going to look because while I need those classes to graduate, I feel that the colleges might think that I'm slacking off and like dropping an AP for a easy class.
And which AP should I drop so that my course load still looks rigerious to colleges?

AP Stats
AP Physics
AP Gov
AP Environmental Science

drop stats.

no, it won’t look bad.

I am curious, why did you not take these classes as a freshman. Such classes take less away from freshman year as the other courses are of a far lower caliber and because your time was worth less.

Yeah stats, stats is trivial and stupid.

I’d drop APES, I mean, you already have a science class.

Drop AP Stats or APES. I hate Stats, my teacher is brilliant, but a pretty bad teacher. She is confusing, does not explain stuff well, and assumes we are on her comprehension level.

haha

It won’t look that bad anyway. 3 APs is not an easy schedule :)

In response to why I didn’t take these classes Freshmen year was because I went to a private catholic school in Oregon which had totally different graduating requirements than the current school I’m going to in California. We weren’t required to take a computer class, and I did take a Health Class, but my counselor said it didn’t transfer so i have to retake it.

:x learning towards APES right now

Yes, I would drop APES. If you still wanted to take the AP exam though, you probably could by just studying a few weeks in advance.

I am in the same situation with ART, except I can take the classes as an independent study with projects and ETC to make up for my not actually taking the class. Perhaps your guidance office would allow you to do something similar? (Hopeful)

If you’re required to take health and computers to graduate, and this is your last chance to do it, dropping an AP isn’t so bad because you have no other choice. If I were you, I’d have my guidance counselor explain the drop in my recommendation letter or explain it myself when applying to college. It may not have been very good planning, but it shouldn’t hurt you because it’s an unavoidable conflict of interest.

You’re in four challenging APs at the moment, but I’d suggest letting go of APES if you can. You already have a science, and it’s not advisable to drop math.

Why don’t you look into alternative methods of taking your required elective credits before you drop anything, though? I was in almost the same situation as you because my county requires health and tech, but I arranged to take them online. Maybe something similar is available to you.

:] Yeah, I think Ima drop APES. Cause AP Stats is the only math class that I haven’t taken at my school, so I might as well finish it up.

Our school doesn’t have any online elective classes, only subjects like US history and things like that. While our school does have a test you can take to bypass the Computer requirement, I just need a backup plan incase that doesn’t work out well.
