Last-minute senior scheduling help?

Hi everyone

I am trying to figure out what to do with my senior year!! For background - I’m interested in biology (and, lately, physics), I’m looking at Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Wisconsin (Madison). Last year, I took AP Physics 1 (5), APUSH (5), AP Calc AB (didn’t take exam), AP Lang (5), French 4 Honors, and Drama. I made all A’s except for Calc, where I got a B.

To graduate, I need to take three classes: English, Economics, and Government. Econ and Gov are semester-long classes, and English is a yearlong class.

Right now, these are the classes I’m signed up for:

AP Statistics - does not interest me AT ALL, high volume of work at my school
AP Physics 2 - extremely interesting, moderate workload
AP Physics C - extremely interesting, moderate workload
AP CompSci A - fairly interesting, not a lot of work
AP French - very interesting, not a lot of work
AP Lit - fairly interesting, not a lot of work other than reading

I only have six class periods, and I definitely can’t handle all AP classes.

Here are the options I am considering:

  1. Drop AP Stat. Take Econ/Gov online instead of having a sixth period. This is fairly appealing to me, but it sounds pretty boring.
  2. Drop AP CompSci. Take Econ/Gov online instead of having a sixth period. This is less appealing to me than option 1, but I would be willing to do this if Stat was much more highly esteemed by colleges than CompSci.
  3. Drop AP Stat (or CompSci), take Econ/Gov online in addition to my regular classes, and spend one class period in my school's Maker Space. For those who are unfamiliar with the term... it's basically like shop, but fancier and more STEM-oriented. This appeals to me, but it is a very competitive program at my school and it might already be full.
  4. Drop AP Stat (or CompSci), take Econ/Gov online in addition to my regular classes, and spend one class period as a teacher's aide in a class I have already taken. I would love to do this in Honors Biology, AP Biology, or AP Physics 1 since I liked my teachers in these classes a lot. This is probably the option I like best. However, it all depends on the teacher accepting me.
  5. Drop AP Stat (or CompSci), take Econ/Gov online in addition to my regular classes, and develop an independent study program with a teacher. This seems pretty interesting, but I have no idea what I'd study.

Basically, what I’m asking is - should I drop AP Stat, or is dropping AP CompSci the way to go? Which option is most attractive to colleges, and which will make for the best senior year experience?

I really appreciate any advice y’all can give me. Thanks so much!

Drop AP Stat over Comp Sci, it’s not a very highly regarded class and it sounds like its way more work than it should be at your school. The only issue may be with not taking math senior year but math is usually counted in levels so with AP Calc you’re probably good. Physics C is math heavy so you’ll review some math in there. Do you have Calc BC at your school? If so, I would take that. I would look into the makerspace or TA programs, those sound pretty cool

If you’ve met your schools math requirements for graduation (my kids high school requires math yearly regardless of level or math classes taken before 9th grade) I recommend calling a few college admissions offices your interested in and asking what they think of ending with Cal AB and no math senior year. If that sounds fine maker space sounds like fun. Our school has maker space but it isn’t a class just an after school drop in activity for any interested student. Can you drop Stats and take Econ/Government in school?
