How bad does this look on my college transcript?

I’m in 9th grade and am in all honors courses as well as an AP course. However, I am most likely going to be moved down to regulars in my honors science course (I have an 82) after this school year. How bad does this look on my college transcript?

Assuming a parent override not be successful, the best you can do is do well in your standard science course sophomore year so you can hopefully be approved for an honors science junior year. Even if you do obtain a parent override, it may not be wise to take an honors science after not doing well in one freshman year.

As long as you are not planning on majoring in a STEM field, colleges expect only biology, chemistry, and physics at any level and another science clas, although honors is preferred at sleective schools.

Regular science might be the right place for you at this point. You certainly can discuss the placement with your teacher and guidance counselor. The idea of HS is to do the best you can in the most difficult curriculum you can excel at so do just that.

You are a number of years away from considering colleges. When the time comes (junior year) honestly asses your academic stats (including GPA, standardized tests, course rigor) as well as your financial needs and apply to a wide range of reach, match, and safety schools that appear affordable (you will have to run a net price calculator for each school you consider) and that you would be happy to attend. There are many wonderful schools out there where you can have a great 4 year experience and get where you want to go in life.

If 82 is a B I would think highly unlikely to be moved down if it was a Biology class which typically considered the hardest. If were to be moved it would have been after first semester

You have to do you. Are you being the best you can be? Are you studying for science?
