<p>How bad is a 700 on SAT II Lit? I'm not a prospective English major, but I got an 800 on the reading section and thought I'd do well. I prepped a bit, but not a huge amount. I'm not sure if I should retake or not.</p>

<p>I got the same score...and I think I will retake it...but I think its difficult because its such a subjective test, and there is a lot of ambiguity in the answer choices.</p>
<p>Still, a 700 is still pretty solid, at least, ignoring the percentiles. It just seems so weird –*I thought I'd done well...</p>

<p>The questions are pretty ambiguous, and everyone on here says that it's regarded as the hardest subject test. So I think the "700+" rule really applies to this one and you're fine with 700. </p>

<p>I took Lit. and got a 700 also, but I also took two other SAT II's and did better. I figure a number that starts w/ 7 for any SAT section is pretty great. And your disappointment with a 700 indicates that you're probably kind of stellar overall.. I wouldn't bother retaking it.</p>
<p>It's all relative. Some people would love that scores, others would never be happy with it. Tell us where you're wanting to go and then we can say whether it's "bad" or not. </p>
<p>It's borderline, I think. Good enough for 95% of schools, but for the top colleges it is on the low end.</p>
<p>Yeah I agree with mister. I got a 670 and I have never taken the class before, so I'm going to retake it in December when I am actually enrolled in the class. Tell us your schools, then we can help decide whether or not you should retake it. And yes, anything with a 7 in front on subject tests is amazing :)</p>
