SAT Literature- What's a Decent Score?

Hey guys,

I took the SAT Literature test in January and got a 730 on it... while I was aiming higher, I don't really think it's a terrible score. Is it worth sending to great schools like the Ivies and stuff? Retaking this would be a pain, though.

For 2013 college bound seniors, 613 was the average score.

A 730 puts you in the 84th percentile, which is higher than most other subject exams (except Math I). IMO, a 730 is a great score for this exam and is strong enough for the Ivies & elites.

I wouldn’t retake it. I’d concentrate on the other aspects that will make you a desirable candidate for admission to the school of your choice, i.e. GPA, other subject SATs, AP coursework and leadership skills.

730 is great…personally I consider anything above 700 to be a very good score…but even as low as 680 could be good.

cool, thanks guys!

That’s really excellent. Lit is one of the harder tests so anything 700+ would be good. I wouldn’t really waste time retaking it (unless you want to) The tests vary in difficulty alot, so I’d be happy with your score

thanks :)
