How bad is Baits II really?

So I just received my housing contract and it's a Baits II single with a bath. I have heard in general a lot of negative reviews of Baits but they're mostly from students who lived in Central Campus their freshman year. Anyone care to share their experiences living in Baits II.

Like to add I'm an engineering student and my main concern is to what extent living in Baits II will affect my freshman experience.

In a year you will know the answer to your question.

It is all what you make of it. Some people at Baits really like it there. The rooms are a lot larger than those in Markley.

If you get it set in your head that you are going to hate it then you most likely will.

The thing I don’t like is that they put first year undergraduates here. It’s not the traditional college dorm like you see on TV and movies that you are expecting. It consists of multiple smaller buildings, each with suite-style rooms with a few double and/or single rooms attached to a living area and bathroom. It was originally designed to be for graduate students who want more privacy. Only for the past 5 years ago that they starting putting undergrads in it. First year students should be put in halls with communal hall bathrooms and regular double rooms. This creates a good social experience as students bond with their hallmates.

It would be a good place for upper-level undergraduates or graduate students to live. It has big rooms, semi-private baths and a lot of privacy.

I lived in Baits II my freshman year. While I did make a few good friends, it was not very social at all, partially because there are so few people in each hallway and each of the Baits II buildings is very small (four floors consisting of one short hallway per floor). Friends of mine who lived in other, larger dorms on central campus had a much more social freshman experience that I wish I had. It is also an extreme inconvenience to live on North Campus. Although you are in engineering, you will only have one class on North Campus each semester. Therefore, it is MUCH easier to commute to that one class rather than to have to take a bus whenever you want to get back to your dorm. In addition, it is an enormous waste of time to have to wait for a bus when you want to go home at night or on the weekends. I wish I had lived on Central Campus.

Baits 1 wasn’t that bad freshman year.

Depends on you and your personality. What you make of it, if you want to be social there are always people to hangout with at the baits community center. if you dont, you can stay in your room.

And are you in the introverted or extroverted type. If you enjoy quiet time, Baits II will be better for you since you can choose if you want to be social or not. Unlike other dorms, Baits II is not always loud and active.
