viva: scores alone won’t make a difference. In fact, don’t “they” say that top schools can fill the whole class with kids who get 2400s? I know my son, who got something like 800M, 780CR, 740W was eventually rejected from a few ivys. Full tuition too! He also had amazing ECs that were just like yours, pus he had some other national awards in debate and science, and recognized in honor societies etc. So, yeah, scores are part of the puzzle, but it’s just one part. Choose your ED wisely, and don’t only apply to ivies.

Thanks a lot for all the advice! Any other feedback?

Anyone else has feedback? It’ll be appreciated!

Wait until June 1st for the report and see what you got wrong on the Math section.
Then you’ll know what you have to work on~
Math is fairly easy to improve, I went from a 570 to a 710.

And to be honest, right now I would just die for you CR score xD
Arghhh!!

Will a 720+ on Math Level II make up for the 700??

Your score is great and will look very good to an ivy.

Seeing as math is probably the easiest section to improve, why not try to get that closer to 800? Then you will have a great CR+Math score and a better superscore.

But as it is now, thats a strong score for any college

Most Ivy’s (except Cornell, I believe), look at M+CR+W…not just M+CR.

Also, a strong Math-II subject score can easily compensate for a lower SAT Math score. Honestly anything can. For instance, say you are in Calculus right now, with a strong A (95%). If that instructor is recommending you, he or she can easily speak to your strong math ability in the recommendation letter, thus downplaying any lowered SAT score.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the trouble to give his or her opinion!

Does anyone else have feedback?

Your score is fine. Now work on other things that’ll actually get you in.
Good SAT scores will not help you (for these upper-tier institutions). However, bad scores will. Your score is not bad.

Keep in mind that the international pool at the ivy league is INCREDIBLY competitive. You have to be the top of the top of the top to get in.

You are fine. Every admissions officer or student I have spoken to says that SAT scores are mostly cut-offs. 2250-2400 is pretty much all good to most admissions officers. So with your score you will definitely make the cut, then they will start looking at the more subjective(i.e. important) parts of your application. So work on your essays, course work, and EC’s. That is what will get you in.

Everyone, thank you.
I’ll see about a retake after I finish my Subject tests.
If anyone else has feedback, it’d be awesome of you could PM me or post.
Thanks once again!

mad mad scores. 800 on CR? WUT? 770 on WRITING? I got 610 for writing 740 for CR… Well. I beat u in math XD

Please lets face it if you got a score like that, you know very well that its an amazing score :S

ermmm why is 800 critical reading in India so surprising ^^, we don’t live on farms and speak in our native tongues. I sense derogatory tones o.O

Because English is a slightly secondary in Indian schools (I’m INdian-American).
