I am a senior who was accepted at UVA this year.
I'm taking an online semester AP. The problem is, I've been working jobs/trying to keep other grades up, and I am failing the class.

If I drop it, would uva rescind my acceptance? O_O

You should call and ask…

I agree that you should call and ask, but everything I’ve read in the past indicates that dropping a class in your final semester is highly frowned upon. Obviously, it depends on your particular circumstances.

what if this class is in ADDITION to my other 7 classes at school? An extra online class.

I really don’t feel like I’ll be able to handle it…I have 4 APs to study for already.

What would be worse. Getting a C in the class? or dropping it?

A C isn’t THAT bad. If you have to choose between dropping the class and earning a C, just take the C.

I would agree…a C is much better than dropping a class.

If your grades reflect a fairly significant drop between mid year reporting and final reporting you may get a letter from the university asking you to explain the change. I don’t think one C is going to do it and would agree that you should not drop the class. However it is really important to the University that you maintain your level of achievement and not slack off too much! One of my sons received such a letter at the end of his senior year. He explained the circumstances and he graduated from UVA last May

Getting a C is much better than dropping. At least you gave it a chance.

I’m in a really hard physics class this year that I was considering dropping, but I’m sticking through and I have a B+ right now, so I would definitely see it through.
