How bad will this hurt me?!!

Hi, I have applied ED to Duke this fall and have an overall strong record. I am wondering to what extent the following factors will hurt my chances of admission.

First, the Postives:
-ACT:35
-Class Rank: 7/432
-GPA: 3.9/4.5
-Most challenging Class Schedule
-Solid recommendations
-Very solid essays
-From Wisconsin
-Demonstrated a ton of interest (I know this doesn't count for Duke)
-a letter from an alum
-Strong interview
-AP Scholar with Honor and National Merit Semifinalist
-Most meaningful EC's:
-4 years varsity tennis with all-state honors
-Summer jobs (teaching tennis)
-NHS
-Student Council
-Student Athlete Leadership Team
-Inner-city Tutoring
-Football

Just to give you an idea, my EC's have been noted as solid in dedication and variety but not extraordinary.

Now, this is the stuff that concerns me. To what degree do you think this will affect me?

I only have three years of Science. Junior year, I had to drop Physics after being out of school with mono. My counselor said she would make a note of this so hopefully she did.

I took AP Statistics as a Junior. This is considered a weaker math class I have been told.

I have 4 B's. Two in Algebra 2/Trig (H), 1 in Biology (H), and 1 in Chemistry (H). I have listed history and economics as my career interests so at least they are mostly unrelated subjects.

I am a white male, from an affluent suburb, and a school with lots of opportunities.

I'd really appreciate any feedback that you might have.

Forgot to mention that I have no legacy and I'm not being recruited for tennis.

Dude, chill. Unless Duke hates your school and rejected every applicant in the past 5 years you have a great shot. Everyone gets Bs and you do not need a 4.0 to get into any college.

You have a very good chance; those things should not hurt you that much

Thank you. I'm hardly freaking out. I have just been told that AP stats and 3 years of science are huge detriments.

You should have done 4 years of science, and I know a bunch of people who took AP stat. They got into Duke, Stanford, Wharton, Williams, Amherst, Cornell, Columbia, the list goes on. Just be sure you either took, or are taking calculus. Preferably BC, but the highest one available. If you did AP Stat instead of calculus, then it does hurt a bunch. APStat<AP Calc and may be viewed as a tiny step above honors calc. Econ also requires some Calc background.

Yeah I know I should have done the science but I had mono so I needed to drop a class to catch up in the others. And, science was the first to go. I am currently taking AP Calculus AB.

Any other opinions. Will my counselors explanation that mono is the reason I only have 3 years of science help?

Well, I just got my first quarter grades that Duke wants and I have 2 B's. One in AP Calculus AB and one in AP English. They are B+'s but still. How heavily are these weighed in an admission decision. I have 3 As and 2 Bs for the first quarter.

I think it is only really going to hurt if you are wanting to major in science or math otherwise you should be okay.

i think you're fine...... Physics isnt a big deal

Well I'm taking Physics this year. I'm most concerned about the B+ in AP Calculus AB and AP English. It would suck to be denied because of a few borderline grades. PS I plan to major in economics
