I am a senior that still needs to take an art class to graduate. The way my schedule works, there is no way I can easily fir an art class with my schedule, as not art classes have space during final period (the only period I have space since I’m taking APs) I was considering taking a modified period (ie. a period i can leave school about an hour early), and take an art credit online and get credit that way. My school has a program where I can get credits online. Will colleges look negatively at this schedule, as I won’t be taking hs classes in class?
Does it even show up as an online class on the transcript?
If a kid can get into Ivy League schools out of homeschooling or cyber-schooling, I am very confident a single online art class will not mean anything to anyone. Only exception might be an art school, and it sounds like that isn’t the case here.
You need to ask your school if they will accept this. If you fill your HS requirement colleges will be fine with it.
@“Erin’s Dad” yes, I have completed classes like health online so I could make room for AP classes. I would essentially be leaving hs early… this wouldn’t look like “slacking” my senior year?
And it shows up as online on my transcript
No, it wouldn’t look like slacking (filling a requirement is not slacking).
