Senior classes?

To all of CC out there, is an art class (any) a requisite for your school?

My school won't let me graduate if I don't take an art class. And the thing is, art my school: you basically get a lump of clay and poke at it (literally. I'm not kidding), so I don't see the point in art class. I don't want colleges to look at my senior schedule and see ART. Will they know art was a requirement?

And also, if I'm looking into engineering as a major (not sure yet), is it essential that I take Principles of Engineering? (My school has no other classes related to engineering) But the only period for that conflicts with my AP Euro period. Would it be better to take Euro or engineering?

In addition, Art conflicts with Engineering and Euro. So currently they've put Art and Engineering on the side. I'm afraid they might make me drop Euro to take art.

I’m not sure what your question is.

Yes, I have an art and music requirement.

Are you saying that the only period that art is offered conflicts with AP Euro? Regardless, art is a requirement for you to graduate. There’s no way around it.

Like what ski said, your gonna have to take Art whether you like it or not. If you choose Euro over it then you don’t graduate, How would that look to Colleges?

As far as course rigor, colleges are most concerned with seeing that you had (close to) the most challenging schedule available at your school. Everyone at your school has to take an art class, so it evens out and you’re fine. Colleges know that high schools have random requirements.
No, and I feel like a lot of high schools would make that into a joke class anyway. AP European History might allow you to get out of taking a required college class you don’t want to take, if you end up at a school that gives credit for AP exam scores.
