How badly have I screwed up?

I went through all of freshman year with a 4.0 (freshmen not allowed to take AP courses). However, with this first semester of sophomore year, I may have just screwed up everything.
Currently, my grades are:
AP Bio: B+ (only way I can pull this up to an A- if I score at least a 99% on the final, which is pretty unlikely, although the teacher does curve)
Hon Precalc: C
AP World: B-
Hon Eng: A-
Chem: A-
Japanese: A

My finals are next week, and there isn't much left to go in the grade book.

I don't know what happened. It didn't really hit me until a few days ago how bad my grades really are. I can't help but feel so regretful for these past few months. I know I didn't do my best, and now I'm just wishing I could turn back time. Just looking at these grades, what are my chances to get into a decent UC?

Also, assuming my school allows me to retake honors precalc and replace my grade with an A, how much better are my chances?

I'm feeling really down and disappointed in myself...

Mathematically, you certainly can recover. One semester of a 3.6-3.7 isn’t the end of the world. You can still make it into

Did you work hard, study lots and do your best?

If so, you may have unrealistic expectations of yourself.

I’d suggest you don’t re-take honors pre-calc. It is a difficult and time consuming course that will keep you from excelling elsewhere. If you really applied yourself - take an non-honors/AP math next year.

You’ve got a brutal schedule which isn’t doing you any favors. 2 AP and 2 Honors courses is a LOT for a sophomore. Frankly, you performed pretty well. That’s why the UCs and CSUs cap your GPA with just 2 AP/Honors credits per semester.

Good luck.

Yes, mathematically you can recover, but mentally you may not be able to. Honestly, you are asking a lot of yourself and it seems like you are putting a ton of pressure on yourself. Your course load is crazy hard which, as NCalRent, isn’t doing you any favors.
Don’t stress and just continue studying really hard, but do not push yourself past your limit.

Good luck!
