How Badly Will I do on the AP US Exam??

In one year, my AP US History class made it until just after the Civil War. I take the exam in a little more than a week. Any suggestions, tips, etc.??

Buy yourself an AMSCO, and read like you’ve never read before.

^Agreed. Run to the bookstore! RUN!

You guys are screwed. The post Civil War is probably half or even over half of the exam.

Run, grab an AMSCO AND a Princeton review, and don’t sleep.

Until you get your hands on REA Crash Course or some other Test Prep to read like crazy, use this to be at least exposed to all the super important names.

How did you guys only get to the Civil War?

Finish PR and make sure you know it well. I was in a similar situation(didn’t get to 1st world war), and decided to take up princeton two weeks before. I studied, and fortunately was able to get a 3. But if you’re aiming for a higher score, you can always skip class and study then. :)

Wow…I’ve heard some horror storries on here before…but ***???
My teachers are starting to look like superstars…
If I were you, I’d go get a big ol’ book, a really comprehensive one and only read Post-Civil War stuff. Hopefully, spending a year one pre-Civil War, you have good knowledge of that.
But honestly, there is a TON of stuff after civil war.
Highlights:
-Reconstruction of the south (about end of civil war to 5 years later)
-The labor movement (starting about early 1890 into Great Depression)
-U.S. Imperialism

  • THE PROGRESSIVE ERA!!! KNOW T.R.
-WWI, but it isn’t all too important
    -The Roaring 20s, pretty big
-The Great Depression, THE NEW DEAL!
    -Cold War
    Hopefully you’ll get at least a 3
    Good luck!

What in the??? How the heck does that happen? Are you sure you aren’t in a 2-year APUSH class, lol? That or your teacher is a jack-a

Get your $66 back and take the $20 deposit loss.

Read AMSCO. If you read at 3-5 chapters a day (maybe take some days off school before the test =)) you CAN do it.
I would read the chapters, answer MC, and practice at least 1-2 DBQs from the post civil war time period, in addition to a couple free response questions.
It all depends on how many APS you are taking. If AP US is the only one, then I think you can do it if you work work work. And SLEEP IS IMPORTANT!! no matter how much you know, if you are too tired to remember, than it is all for naught.

I would also recommend to read amsco. Last year I managed to finish the entire book in about 1 week because there are so many pages without information. Amsco is a good overview and depending on how talented you are at absorbing information, could get you at least a 3 if not higher.

I managed to get a 5 last year but I also read pageant cover to cover for class.

How did you only get through the civil war? You should talk to the teacher and the school administration about that, because something is seriously wrong there.

just read crashcourse. you can’t buy amsco in a book store, so you gotta order it online from amazon, which takes 5 buisness days (unless you pay ALOT of money for a day shipping).

REA’s Crash Course is a miracle, read it through once, take notes on everything, read it through a few more times. You’ll get at least a 3.
