How can a student moving out get rid of their old cheap items?

So I'm in the process of moving and am selling a number of items. I have 3 weeks left here.

I've already advertised my more expensive items on Craigslist and the school listserv.

The other issue, though, is - what about all my cheaper items? E.g. unopened lightbulbs, unopened bottles of OTC medication, free paper, etc? How should I sell them? Could I just take pictures of them all together and say "you pay what you want" or something?

And what about all my unconsumed dried beans and dried ingredients? I hate contributing to food waste, but it's not going to be mailed back home.

Curb alert. No one is going to pay for that stuff.

The food may not even be Craigslist-able, and if it’s open, you can’t donate it. Maybe you have a friend who wants it?

Unconsumed dried beans? I know college students are poor, but seriously? Give them to a student who is staying for the summer.

I’d pack the OTC medication in my suitcase. It’s light. Leave the light bulbs in your dorm or apartment- they will get used. Give the paper to a student.

Welcome to the adult world. Once you purchase something, it’s monetary value is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Why don’t you donate them to a soup kitchen or thrift store?

I know it’s OTC medication, but please don’t dispose of that by selling it to someone else. That’s just risky and weird. You can get into bad situations disposing of medication.

Other than that, you’re probably not getting money. Find someone who will take them.
