How can I apply as a freshman student in the USA?

Hello, I am a Romanian citizen and i would really appreciate if you can tell me what I need for applying at a university in the us, besides the standardized tests. I took the act and i will take the sat II , i also have an impressive cv, having won many national and regional competitions. I also volunteered, had an internship, a job and i am ranked first in my class. I can not afford the full costs of a university and neither the costs of educational consulting. Can you please tell me what are the documents i need for applying and where i can get certain forms?

The exact requirements vary by university, but a freshman application typically requires the following:

A transcript in English of the last 4 years of secondary education. (I did the translation myself, and then the vice principal of my school checked that I didn’t cheat on the grades and put a school seal on it.)

Two letters of recommendations from teachers, preferably submitted online (via Common App).

A school report form from a school official, that describes your school in general and can speak about your own disciplinary record (e.g. if you were ever expelled). Also part of Common App.

The main Common App application form and any school-specific supplements. All online.

SAT or ACT scores.

TOEFL scores for nonnative speakers of English.

An application fee.

If you need a student visa, you’ll be asked for a verification of your family’s income and resources (e.g. income tax and bank statements). These are used for one of two purposes. If you are applying for financial aid, they’ll be used to determine your financial need. If you are not applying for financial aid, they are used to determine if you can afford the full cost of attendance.

If you’re applying for financial aid, you’ll probably be asked to complete the CSS Profile (also online).

EducationUSA is a not-for-profit organization which receives support from the US government for the purpose of providing accurate, unbiased information about educational opportunities in the US. If any fees are charged, they will be very small, and they will go to the direct support of that office. The people who work there are expert at helping students like you find good places to study in the US. If you cannot visit in person, they should be able to give you some advice by email or telephone.
