I feel stupid asking this, but what am I supposed to do? I asked my counselor but she said she doesn’t know. Write a letter? Let my counselor sign it? What should be the content?
Help please.

They have a form somewhere that requests fee waivers. I know UChicago uses it, it might work elsewhere, too.

Your counselor must write a letter to the school in question, stating your current adjusted gross income (or filed year AGI).. and then a short paragraph describing why you would need the waiver (financial difficulties)..

You can either mail the fee waiver with your application or have it sent by your counselor. Either way works.

Some schools (like Dartmouth) strictly accept the College Board waiver only. Ask your college counselor about that.

Usually, the income level must be under like.. $20,000.
