How can I improve my chances?

Greetings everyone

I’m going to be a junior in the upcoming school year and am extremely anxious for it, haha. Like almost every high school student in the country, I am going through a phase where I am feeling super anxious about which college I’m going to end up at and so forth. I’m starting to doubt myself and my abilities to make it into a decent college. So please, here I am, asking you fellow collegeconfidential users to give me input as to how I can improve my chances of getting into a decent college.

GPA: 4.0 unweighted & 4.58 weighted (class #1 rank out of 567)
SAT: none
ACT: none (practice test: 27 composite, 25 English, 28 Math, 28 Reading, 29 Science) (any recommendations as to how I can improve my ACT score? I desperately need to do well to make up for my meager EC. lol)
SAT II: none
AP: (my school doesn’t offer AP classes until junior year, therefore none so far)

Yes, my standardized test scores aren’t impressive because I haven’t taken any. Anyhow, I have come to find out that the ACT is a better fit for me so I have been studying for that more specifically. I’m only scoring in the 27-28s on the practice tests and I would really like to score in the 30s. :frowning: And as far as the SAT II tests go, I heard that if you submit an ACT score, you don’t need a SAT II score, is this true?

ECs (nothing eye-catching):

  • Soon-to-be Eagle Scout (and Senior Patrol Leader)
  • Debate Club (2 years)
  • going to look further into NHS and Boys state (?)

Ever since freshman year, I wanted to go to West Point. I just liked its military atmosphere and prestigious academic setting. It would be an honor to attend West Point and later serve for 5 years for the US. What would the chances be of me being accepted by West Point? What can I do to make myself appear more competitive in the application pool?

And finally, this might seem a bit of a stretch but what would my chances of being accepted to any of the Ivies be?

Sorry for this long post, and I hope every reply to this post would be somewhat respectful and responsible.

Thanks

Admissions to West Point is probably the most unique in the country. You have to be nominated to attend by a member of congress. Being 1st in your class is great, but what they are really looking for is leaders.
