<p>I am having a lot of trouble with critical reading.
When I took a practice SAT back in sophomore year I got a 500 in reading, 570 in writing, and 700 in math. I then took prep the summer before junior year and then studied on my own for 1 month by doing 3 practice tests from the blue book. I recently took the May SAT and I am a junior now. I got a low 500s in reading, High 700s in Math and High 600s in Writing. Both Math and Writing went up, but my reading is still weak.
I honestly cannot find a logical method to improve in the reading. How should I prep myself for the SAT as I have a few months or should I just accept that my reading is screwed? I know my vocab for the most part but its really the reading sections.</p>

<p>I often either misunderstand the passage or I get tricked up or don’t understand the wording of the answer choices. In some cases I get a question when I really have no idea or I narrow it down to 2 answer choices and really can’t decide between the two. Also in many cases its a timing issue. I either do not get to the last 2 questions or I finish but with less than a minute to spare. In my opinion I’m not a fast reader.</p>
<p>I hear you StraferKev, I am not a fast reader either… I used to do so bad on the CR but now I can get at least 600s to 700s… I want to get around 750 but the passages just screw me up bad!!</p>
<p>That’s the thing my goal for reading is to get in the 600s. What do you suggest helped you improve to the 600s?</p>
