I'd like to compare them year to year, and, for example, see which direction a school has gone the past 4 years.

I'm not sure if this is possible or if it's a good idea to do.

Let me ask you this question. What is the difference between no. 1 and no. 11 this year? What is the difference if no. 1 was no. 4 last year?

Now that you have an answer in mind, ask yourself: does anyone who actually attends these colleges give a whoop or is it really outsiders’ pedestrian and trivial fascinations with “rankings” and a magazines gold mine story format?

As you can see, I have an extremely low opinion of USNWR rankings.

(and I’m an HYP alum)

But to answer your question, I’m sure a google search will get you your rankings opiates…

I had the same question when I was comparing schools, and found it difficult to google around, even with the waybackmachine. I think what you’ll find more useful concerning a school’s upward or downward trend would be to use [IPEDS Data Center](Use the Data)

That govt website has data on everything over the last decade or so, so its easy to see and compare a school’s relative trend.
