How can i string together several anecdotes?

I have several anecdotes that can work together to convey the sense of person that i am. But i'm having trouble making it flow well. or should i just leave them choppy and then dedicate some words to connecting them?

I would personally just take your best one and elaborate on it. More than one is too confusing and that itself is the reason you’re having trouble; it likely can’t flow well no matter what.

It’s difficult to adequately help you without knowing the specifics of your issue. If you PM me your essay, I’ll do my best to aid you solving your anecdote problem! :stuck_out_tongue:
I have several years of experience as a tutor and writing coach, and I’ve edited a bunch of essays on CC so far this summer, so hopefully I can be of help to you!

Just trying to string together anectodes when the only commonality between them is “you” is a losing battle. Don’t try to tell everything about you… pick something that is interesting about you and weave an essay around that.

I had the same problem. I had three anecdotes, and after a long time I was finally able to let one story flow to the other. The only thing was, I had reached over a thousand words, and I couldn’t cut it because doing so would leave out some important details. So instead I focused on the most important anecdote. My new essay was a lot shorter but less scattered and definitely easier to read.

Quality over quantity. Essays need solid flow.
