How can I take local college courses (during the school year) as a high schooler?

There's a local community college in New Jersey called Mercer County Community College... I was interested in doing General Bio 101, Biomedical science courses, and Human Anatomy while concurrently enrolled in my high school classes. Would general college bio be sufficient for the AP exam? Also, how should I go about contacting them if I was interested in starting this late in the year. I'm positive I can catch up, but I don't know how I should approach this. Any thoughts?

Go about contacting them by giving them a phone call or shooting them an email to their admissions office. Tell them you want to dual-enroll. Tell them which courses you’re interested in.

I am taking a class at my local community college and in CA at least high school students can only take one class per semester :(. Also, most community colleges, I would think, will not let you enroll this late in the semester.

I’m taking one class at a local uni and one at its affiliated CC. My friend is taking 3, all at the uni proper. There’s another HS girl in one of my classes, and I know another guy here who takes all his classes at a different, private local uni. It’s easy for us because our state (Go Ohio!) has a program.
Ohio isnt the only state with a dual enrollment program. Your counselors should know if there’s one in your state, but try an internet search. The program here is called Post Secondary Enrollment Options, and other similar names are used as well.
Other than that, you’lll probably have to pay for classes out fo pocket and pursue them through contact with the CC or uni itself. You probably can’t come into any classes for this term, but you may be able to start taking classes in January, when 2nd quarter or semester begins.

If this community college (in the second term) has General Biology but it doesn’t fit my schedule, can I email them if they would be able to make any more openings available?

Um… usually if they don’t have any openings… you can tell them to contact you if there are any but the likelihood of that happening is very slim

Most college’s semester’s end in about a month. Do you really think you can take the entire course in 25% of the time?
