164 to 1720.

Less than “projected,” actually.

164 to 1720.

Less than “projected,” actually.

PSAT (11)
CR - 71
M - 80
W - 76
Total - 227

March SAT (11)
CR - 680
M - 790
W - 800
Total - 2270

So my PSAT and SAT totals are the same, but the breakdown is slightly different (30 less on reading, 10 less on math, 40 better on writing)

PSAT scores are slightly lower than what you get on your SATs. I’m not sure if you got it, but my school posted a little print out of the “projections.”

My 164 translated to mid 1700s.

10th: 179
11th: 200
11th SAT: M: 800, CR, 670, W 780 combined: 2250

Yeah…that was a 250 point increase. 50 increase on the math, 170 on the writing, and only 30 on the CR. Gotta improve that CR.

I’m not sure if you actually read my post. The thread is asking how close your PSAT score is to your SAT score. I got 227 and 2270. So in my case, the two scores are the same.

But they are not on the same scale. All I am saying is that the PSATs are slightly lower than what they “project” your SAT scores to be. So, your 227 and 2270 might look the same (giving a zero). However, the 227 might project to a 2350 and your scores do not “match.”

Our school definitely didn’t tell us about projecting SAT scores from the PSAT. All I know is:

-227 is 99th percentile on the PSAT, and good enough for NMSF in New York
-2270 is 99th percentile on the SAT, and good enough for most colleges (although I’m retaking to improve CR)
-Add a “0” to 227, and you get 2270

Soph:
PSAT: 216
SAT: 2160

Junior:
PSAT: 237
SAT: 2320

So pretty close I’d say.

205 PSAT to 2030 SAT
I guess I should’ve studied more…

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t score as well as you want on the PSAT. I know a lot of peopel whose PSAT equivalents were much lower that their actual SAT scores.

Total Score : 2120
PSAT Junior 1980---- actually you know—198 …
Outcome: +140

Very closely.

PSAT: 234
SAT: 2350

Didn’t practice for PSAT. Did study for SAT.

wasn’t really close…

197 or so PSAT

2130 Jan SAT
2250 March SAT

no prep for any

10th PSAT 194
11th PSAT 207
11th SAT 2250

There really isn’t that much of a correlation

11th PSAT: 1940
11th SAT: 2220

D took a prep class for both:
PSAT 212
SAT 2220

She took the ACT about 2 weeks after the SAT, just because she was fresh off the prep class and got a 34.

11th PSAT: 201
11th SAT: 2210

I did a few of the Blue Book practice tests and reviewed all the answers. I’m happy that I was able to raise my score without taking an expensive class, etc. =)

11th psat: 214
11th sat: 2130

11th PSAT: 223 70/80/73
11th SAT: 2310 790/720/800

Distribution totally different, probably because I focused on Math for the PSAT and CR/W for SAT.

10th PSAT: 160 something?
11th PSAT: 186
March SAT: 2010
