My son is looking for highly collaborative LACs…has a list but wondering about Wesleyan for ED2. Looking for community/collaborative as opposed to more competitive environment. Thoughts? Thx!
I think it’s very collaborative. Start with the fact that there are twice as many art and music majors at Wesleyan than many of its peers in NESCAC or the Pennsylvania LACs. Film crews and pick-up musicians are inherently collaborative and I think this carries over into other aspects of learning. I’d also consider the many laboratory opportunities available at a small college that grants PhD degrees in science and math. People have to cooperate and coordinate there, too. This is not a “salt in the test tubes” sort of place.
