I have just committed to getting UIUC for undergrad in Mechanical Engineering. I am wondering how common and/or how to go about getting a MS in Industrial Engineering after I graduate from UIUC. If I get a Masters in industrial engineering I plan on going to a top school such as Berkeley, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Stanford, MIT etc
Thus, what should I do during my 4 years at UIUC to get a masters in industrial engineering at a top school after graduation.
Thank you
And from this would I be able to get a job in a MBB consulting company or investment bank
Curious why would you want to limit yourself to consulting companies and investment bank, is it financial, prestige, etc? IMO, you can get all that from other industries, Also, you are so far away from graduating plotting out your masters, grad and career. Its good to look ahead but locking down your options now seem absurd. IMO, you should enjoy college, do good in all your current classes with an open mind and looking ahead to all your wonderful options in the next four years. Plotting out your classes, etc to position yourself for a consulting job at McKinsey or Goldman Sachs is setting yourself up for disappointment…just my 2 cents
