I would like to see my chances at the following schools: Bucknell University, Lehigh University, Colgate University (2nd choice!!), and Cornell University (1st choice!). Just concerned because parents said it’s not good enough for these universities, and they are my top picks! Thanks. Just want to see if this score is competitive for them!
For everything except Cornell, you’re good.
For Ivy’s, shoot 1540+.
Look up the latest admission stat of those schools. If yours is around or above the admission average, it is competitive.
A 1490 is very competitive. A quick internet search shows that this score would place you at the 75th percentile or above at all of your schools.
A 1490 is VERY competitive. However, I urge you not to just rely on those scores. Really work on your essays and other aspects of your application. Three of the semi-reach to reach schools I applied to specifically mentioned my essay in my acceptance letter. From those scores, you seem like a very smart and hard working student. Keep it up and you’ll be fine.
It depends on the school you came from. See around which perctentile your score places you among students at your own HS and see which colleges students of similar scores got into in previous years.
