Just curious
Millikin is non pre-screen and take 26-28. They tell you upon exit interview (at least on campus) if you got into BFA MT or recommend BA Theatre. I believe they are pretty competitive. Just my opinion. But they do have a program (they call them hurdles) for freshman and sophomores which to others would be called a cut program. As I recall, the senior class had 14 graduating BFA MT’s when S spent the day on campus. So I don’t know it that means 1/2 got cut in the first two years or not??
anyone know about viterbo?
When I auditioned on campus at Viterbo they told me they are competitive and will only take about 16-18. I believe they are giving out more offers in order to yield that number, however. Don’t quote me on this though, it was all the way back in December!!
I was also told at unifieds it was around 16.
Millikin does have hurdles but if you fail one of the hurdles, you get a semester probation and get to retry the hurdle. If you fail the hurdle again, you will be redirected to another program, usually within that same area. Millikin only takes the number of students that they can accommodate in a program, unlike other schools who take more and then weed out. All the class sizes are small so a prof knows if you not there but at the same time, they know your name and your face. Profs are very approachable and actually want to see you succeed. You will get to know everyone in my class and major since you will spend four years with them. The major of the students are arts majors of one kind or another.
