I’m a junior in high school and Michigan State is one of the colleges I’m thinking about because they have a good economics program. I have a 3.7 weighted gpa (my school doesn’t do unweighted) and I haven’t taken the SAT yet but I think I’m going to score around a 1250. I think that these stats awould get me into MSU but if their economics major is more competitive, then maybe not. Would declaring my major as economics affect my chances of getting in at all? Thanks so much.
If I’m not mistaken, you do not have to declare your major when applying to Michigan State, save certain programs, like the residential colleges (James Madison, Lyman Briggs and RCAH – the Residential College for Arts & Humanities), and only then because space runs out quickly because those are small yet popular programs. So I think you should be OK.
Should I not declare a major then?
