How Competitive is USC for Women's Rowing?

I'm currently a novice rower (started around February), but I'm pretty good. I occassionally row up in my team's 2V and 3V. I was wondering how competitive USC Women's Rowing was. I understand they are D1, but I'm not sure exactly what erg scores, gpa, and test scores would get me in. I know it's pretty late in the season for recruiting (I am a senior) but I'm almost positive that I want to take up Crew in College. I have already sent a recruit questionnaire and a personal email, of which they replied back and inquired more info about me (Test Scores, transcripts, athletic resume, etc). I just want to know if I would be even on par with some of their incoming class. Any feedback?

thanks

AppleBeam - this would be a more helpful post if you posted your erg scores, gpa and test score range for feedback. Since you’re a senior, these are pretty much the scores you are going in with (erg can get faster- but other numbers are fixed.) Are you looking for a scholarship, an admissions nod, or the potential to walk on?

^That probably makes more sense. :)

Erg Scores:
2K (Spring): I can’t remember exactly, I’ll try and get specifics tomorrow.
4K: 2:05.3/ 500m
10K: 2:17/ 500m
3 x 4K: 2:09.7, 2:08.6, 2:04.0

GPA: 2.9-3.0 UW/3.3 W (Sucks, I know)

SAT: 1950 (I’m taking the December SAT)

I was really hoping that I’d be able to receive some type of scholarship for doing Crew in college, because at the moment, my family is going through a financial dilemma that I probably can’t avoid. I was also hoping that I could get a slight boost in admissions for Crew because my gpa is less than spectacular and seems like the only thing that’s holding me back. My grades were steady Frosh and Sophomore year but tanked my Junior year due to personal issues at home. I wouldn’t mind walking-on but I probably wouldn’t be able to get in with my stats alone. I don’t want to seem like I’m just reaping the benefits of playing Varsity Sports in college, but I’ve just had a few set backs last year that I’m trying to fix.

USC women’s rowing is very competitive. They finished 5th at last year’s NCAA championships. The level of recruits ranges from top Europeans (last year’s 1V and 2V were all foreigners) to a 2k in the 7:50s for a LW. However, the coach will let you know what he expects in terms of times and grades/test scores.
