How competitive is Yale transfer vs. Other Ivies

<p>Well I am considering applying for transfer to yale along with some other top schools and ivies.
My HS GPA is a 3.0 UW can't remember weighted.</p>

<p>SAT: 2120</p>

<p>SAT 2</p>

<p>WORLD HISTORY 720
BIOLOGY 780
PHYSICS. 740</p>

<p>I was accepted to Howard University, Penn State, Univ. Of Maryland, and Morehouse college for biochemical engineering.</p>

<p>Would it be better for me to transfer from a CC or one of the colleges listed above?
BTW What are my chances if I had a 3.85+ in the cc/or university.</p>

<p>If I have no chance at Yale please list other top schools that I could attend. </p>

<p>Any advice is deeply appreciated =]]</p>

<p>You better get like a 4.0 university GPA in order to mitigate those damages.</p>

<p>No are you out of your mind?! It’s easier to transfer from a better school.</p>

<p>Well, Yale transfer is hard for anyone. There are only maybe under 10 spots open each year. Schools like Penn, Cornell, and even Columbia are better substitutes.</p>

<p>Considering that you’ve not even set foot on a college campus, it’s a bit premature to be looking elsewhere no? Which one have you matriculated? All your options are great schools in and of themselves. You’re shorting yourself by not allowing yourself to fall in love w/the school you’ll be attending in Sept.</p>

<p>The scattershot of targeted transfers schools SCREAMS out prestige-chasing as well. You can’t honestly say that you KNOW what those schools offer more than your college besides being an Ivy League. Not a good route to pursue as you’re exactly the kinda student that these schools will reject.</p>

<p>Yale’s transfer accept rate is 2% or so. Frankly, should devote yourself to enjoying your Freshman year. Good luck to you</p>
